A horrible, horrible error was detected on the "Eclectica" page - after filling out the order form and submitting it, users were presented with an error message, meaning that no orders on "Eclectica" have been processed.
The error has now been corrected, so please place your orders again.

I know that there's also a problem with the Forum, which has been down since moving the page from the old webhotel to the new one. The new webhotel doesn't support Access databases and I haven't had the time to port the database to MySQL yet...will do so shortly, though.

Musically, I'm on a roll, people!
I have just finished a new tune, of which a sample will be uploaded shortly. I'm still working on that orchestral piece for the next IRIS demo, while also working on some other tunes.

Yeah.... I dropped "Eclectica"... for now.
The reason is that I make much better music now and remaking the tunes from "Eclectica" would not be reflecting my current skills. So...
But I will probably take a couple of tunes from "Eclectica" and remake these. These remakes will then make it onto my next album, which I WILL be able to release legally.
I will also look into the possibility of selling the tunes as single downloads directly from this website (www.nutman.dk). Once I have figured out how to do so, I will take all the tunes from "Eclectica" and offer them for sale here on www.nutman.dk.

Currently I'm working on music for a new demo from IRIS - it's going to be a PPC demo and the music is MP3, so I'm allowed to use all tools possible. The piece will have an orchestral feel to it, blended with modern rhythm and modern sounds. The tune will NOT be uploaded to this site until: A) The demo is released and B) The "Buy-and-download"-section is done. Sorry...but anyway, it's worth the wait and paying for it, hehe.

I have made a hard decision regarding "Eclectica".

Since I obviously cannot get the last permission I need (some guy in USA simply doesn't answer any of my mails, both email and snailmail), I will totally remake the tunes from "Eclectica", but this time on my PC.

I will remove the samples I didn't get permission to use and will resample the ones I did get permission to use, to increase quality on the tunes.

As you might imagine, this could take quite some time. I have the melodies and the ideas, of which some will be changed, but remaking a tune takes some time, nonetheless.
I will post progress on this page, so tune in now and then to follow the development.

The new CD will still be called "Eclectica", but will feature new cover artwork, and I hope to raise the resources to be able to have the CDs printed professionally this time.

"Eclectica" will also feature some new tunes of which some sound clips are already uploaded to this homepage.

Apart from that, other things has happened aswell.
I bought myself a new computer and are now running a dual monitor setup, thereby greatly the amount of visual workspace, which is extremely nice! Every computer-based musician ought to try that. Pictures of the new setup will soon be available here. If you're interested in the new computer's stats, you can check them out on the info page.

Yesterday I purchased a MIDI controller keyboard from Evolution and a couple of headphones from Beyer Dynamic, so now my "studio" is quite crammed together now. I have added some pictures of my studio. Check them out in the gallery.

Another module added. This is an old module of mine, finished at the South Sealand party 96 and competed in the surprise module compo. We were given a set of samples and had to make the best of them....hehe, I didn't, but I competed nonetheless. :)

It's been ages, and much has happened.

I haven't made much music over the summer, where much of my spare time was dedicated to planning the annual vacation, I spend with my girlfriend.This time we saw some things in Germany, while our primary goal was Switzerland. A truly beautiful country! After Switzerland we visited France, which is always nice, before returning to Denmark. It was hot, hot, hot in France and Germany, but in the Swiss alps the temperature was perfect.

After the vacation we bought a digital camera, an Olympus C750UZ, which is very nice. Good quality and great images. I use it mainly for taking pictures of the various golf courses I play on, but also for other things. You can see some images of the camera itself here.

Speaking of golf, I am currently create a seconday homepage, dedicated to my other great hobby, golf.
Check out www.nutman.dk/golf, which will be permanently accessible from the INFO page of this site. Likewise, this page will be accessible from the INFO page of the new golf homepage, so you're able to switch between the homepages.
The golf homepage is not totally ready yet, but it's up and running as it is right now. It will be completed over the next couple of months.

I know a guy, who makes a lot of metal works. He's an engraver, and has created a cool window of my logo for my computer tower. Check out the gallery for images of the window.

Otherwise not much has happened. I'm waiting for a guy from USA to reply and give me permission to use the John Glenn/Friendship 7 samples, that I use for the Friendship 7 trilogy on "Eclectica", but this person is VERY hard to reach. I have emailed him on several occasions and have even snail-mailed him! As it looks now, I don't think I will ever get an answer from him. I have more or less given up about making "Eclectica" an official release. I certainly cannot send it to any record company without having cleared all the copyrighted stuff, I used on it. They would simply regard me as being a rip off, and not very serious at all. Oh, regarding "Eclectica" you might be glad to hear, that Copy #50 is STILL AVAILABLE. This is the LAST copy I will sell of this CD, unless I can acquire the last permissions, so go grab this baby before it's too late. :)
So I'm working on some new stuff, of which some clips will hopefully be available on this site in the near future.

Oh yeah, as you might know, I have fought hard to retrieve all the needed permissions to actually be able to RELEASE my CD, legal wise.
The only sample I wasn't allowed to use, is the sample from the David Lynch movie "The elephant man". I use this sample in the tune "Elephantiasis", but Paramount Pictures didn't want to allow me to use this (they will be sorry later), so I need to lend an Amiga 4060 from a friend of mine, in order to fire up Digibooster and remove the sample from that tune.
At the same time I will correct some small errors in the tune "Eclectica" and will use some newly claimed equalising skills to improve the quality of the remaining tunes.
Then I will make a new image and start burning CDs for distribution in the record industry and send these CDs to multiple record companies.
Hopefully this will give me a record deal. :)

Of course this new image will replace the CD I am selling right now, but the numbering of the CDs will continue, and nothing else will change, except for the price of the CD (as mentioned earlier).
However, there is still one CD left of "the old batch". CD number 50! This CD can still be purchased at the old price, but hereafter the CD will cost 9.99 EUR.

As mentioned earlier, I participated with 3 tunes (Eclectica, Exposed and Sea of tranquility) in a contest for songs to a movie soundtrack (the movie is danish and is called "Anja efter Viktor"), but sadly my tunes weren't selected for the final soundtrack.

I have uploaded clips of the 2 new tunes (Sea of tranquility and Exposed) aswell as a new tune called Mia to the Current work section.

You can chat with me, if I'm online. I just added my ICQ number, ICQ status indicator and MSN messenger name under "Info".

"Eclectica" has sold 47 copies now and so I'm very close to selling 50 copies which was one of the goals I set for the CD.
Quite satisfying, I must say.

I have also decided, that I'll soon start sending the CD to some record companies.
In order to do this, I need permission from people whose copyrighted material I used on the CD.
So far I have gotten permission from the heavy metal band "Stratovarius" (I used some sampled sequences in "Friendship 7 - Part 1 - 100 miles and counting"), and I am close to signing a contract with Earthstation1.com, that grants me permission to use all of the "Friendship 7" samples, which I downloaded from the Earthstation1.com site.
Finally I wrote to Kim Elf of Somco Records, who holds the rights for the tune "Highland", which I remixed "alternatively" for "Eclectica". Kim asked me to send the CD and after listening he would decide whether or not I should be granted permission to use the tune on the CD. I'm still waiting for his reply, though.

Now, you may wonder why I didn't try to get all these permissions before I started selling the CD, and the truth is that I didn't plan on selling so many CDs so fast. I never thought that I might have a commercial "success" here, but after selling so many copies (it's still selling quite good, for that kind of CD) I decided to start sending the CD to several record companies and I think I need to control all copyright and legal issues, before I do this. Otherwise the record companies might think of me as being dishonest and unserious, which I'm not!
Oh, and another reason to gather these permissions is that it's the only right thing to do!!!

Once all permissions are gathered, the CD will also be more expensive.
The reason for this is also, that I don't want people to think that my music is crap, because the price of the CD is so low.
Another reason is that if distributors want to buy some CDs of me, in order to sell them on their own, they would want to buy them cheaper than the normal price. But as it is now, I really don't make any money on the CD, so there is no room for that kind of "bargain" sales.
Therefore I have decided to raise the price to 9.99 EUR (same in U$D) as soon as all permissions have been collected.

So hurry up if you want to be able to buy the CD at the old price, which is 4 EUR (same in U$D)!

Wow! Is christmas early this year, or what? I just found another old module and added it to this page! The module is called "Penge!" (danish for "Money!") and was probably used is a old Avatar packmag. Check it out here.

To celebrate the new year, I added another old module, that IRIS used in a packmag, called Avatar (issue 8), which was released at the TRSAC 2K party.

I found and added the module Possessed to the Scene Work section.
The module had never been available on this site before, but I finally found it on ftp.amigascne.org!
As you might know this is the only module I ever won a (real) compo with, so it's worth checking out! :)

"Eclectica" has now been available for a couple of weeks, and I have sold 12 copies so far...not much, but since I counted on selling MAX. 50 copies of it, I think my goal will be fulfilled soon.
I will start sending the CD to record companies soon.

Finally I'm planning on uploading some new MP3-tunes soon (or maybe some clips only).

While searching the net, I suddenly found an old tune of mine, that I had totally forgotten about.
The tune is called Delirium Tremens and came 2nd in the 4-channel compo at the TCP party in Copenhagen, 1997.

After 4 long years my debut album is finally done!
I have made all the music and all artwork myself and I am quite proud of the result, to say the least.

Go to the Eclectica page and order the CD immediately. The price is only 30 dkr/4 EUR, so everybody should be able to afford it.
All copies are signed by Nutman and numbered. Will make a nice collector's item, if I ever get a breakthrough. :)

Well..what else is new?
Well, I went to the Jean Michel Jarre concert in Denmark (entitled "AERO") on the 7th of September and is was a great pleasure! Sure, it rained a bit and it was very muddy, but the concert itself was very good!
I have also decided to stay in IRIS (my Amiga demo scene group), because I have very good friends there.
Last, but not least, I have made some music for a danish film, called "Anja efter Viktor" (www.anjaefterviktor.dk), which is a quite popular series of youth films here in Denmark. I don't know yet if my music will be used in the film, though.

I added the title tune from Eclectica. It recently came in 3rd in the MP3 compo at TRSAC FU '02. Get it here

As mentioned earlier, I competed with the tune "Eclectica" in the MP3 compo at TRSAC '02.
It made 3rd place and got me a nice bronze duck. :)

Regarding the CD, I finally made a successful burn after experiencing some problems with small "clicks" between some tracks, that were supposed to sound as one big tune...but eventually I fixed it and now the CD is ready to be produced.
All I need to do now, is finish the graphics and have the covers printed.

All songs are done now and have been post-processed. Now I only need to burn them on CD and have the cover printed.
I advertised a bit for the CD at the TRSAC party today, so we'll see if that draws any attention to the CD.
I also compted in the MP3 compo at TRSAC with the title tune "Eclectica". On sunday we'll know how good that went....

As I mentioned earlier, I am tracing some pictures, that MIGHT be used as the CD graphics. I am putting then online in the gallery.
Currently only 1 picture is available, but more will be posted later.

The day before yesterday I completed the final track, "Action".
I have had some problems finding a CD-R program, that supports the Mitsumi CD-R in the Amiga I borrowed from Argh, but finally I found something called "CD Creator". It allowed me to burn CDs, as long as I use a Phillips driver (strange?), so I'll mix all songs in Digibooster tonight, and burn them on a CD.
After this I'll start retouching and refining the tunes on my PC, until I'm satisfied with the result.

Currently I'm also tracing the graphics for the CD cover, using a program called "TerraGen", a very cool landscape generator.
I will post some pictures here in the near future, so stay tuned for those little babies! :)

Things are really speeding up now.
I just finished the tune called "Highland", so now I only have one remaining tune to do, before the final mixing and touches can be applied to the CD.

I'm really in a creative mood at the moment!

Ok. Several things have happened since last update.
I'm currently working very hard to finish "Eclectica" before the 1. August 2002. I'm working on the title tune right now, but also the other remaining 3 or 4 songs are receiving attention now and then.
I'm also got tickets to the Jean Michel Jarre concert in Denmark on the 7th September, yeah yeah!!!! This might now be of great importance to any of you, but I'm really happy about it! :)

Argh's 060 is now working 100% again. I re-installed WB3.1 and now everything just FLIES! ;)
I'm currently working on the tune "Highland".

I'm having some trouble with making Argh's A4060 behave like it should!
It's not fast when mixing in Digibooster and I'm not sure wether it's the SETPATCH or the AHI installation that's causing the problems. I'll look into it right away, though.

The design is new, the webhotel is new...hell, even some of the contents are new. :)

Since I don't own an Amiga anymore, this page hasn't been tested on Amiga. Amiga browsers capable of understanding CSS and Javascript should be able to interpret most parts of the page fine.
If something looks totally crappy please don't hesitate to contact me, of course.

Regarding my CD "Eclectica" I have borrowed an Amiga 4060 from a friend of mine and I will start to finish the last couple of unfinished songs. I have started using a program called "Fruity Loops" on PC and you will soon be able to hear some of those songs on this site. Stay tuned!

Wow! What a delay! I'm back with this update to inform you of a lot of things. First I'd like to mention that my CD "Eclectica" is close to being finished! I'm currently working on the title tune and when it's finished I'll continue on the rest on the tunes. The playlist will look a little bity like this:

Third I'd like to say that I'm losing more and more motivation, when it comes to making music on the Amiga. I think it was a nice thing to cling on to, when I was younger. So many people had an Amiga and I met a lot of friends using this machine.
Nowadays, however, I almost don't use my Amiga anymore. I have not made any music for the demo scene on my own initiative over the last 2 years. I have only made "on demand" music.... The only thing I am using my Amiga for, is to make music in Digibooster...so no scene activity there!
Therefore I have decided to quit the scene and sell my Amiga...
I'm only making music on PC these days anyway, so why keep the Amiga?
"Eclectica" will therefore be my only CD made on Amiga and the last thing released by me on Amiga.
This page will NOT lose all of my Amiga MODs due to this decision, and more or less all information on this page will also be available on the new page (the design update).

I KNOW it's been too long, since I last updated this site, but not much has happened in the meantime. I have decided to sell my A1200PPC (The pictures of the A4K on my "Person"-page are oooold! I've had an A1200PPC for some time now....), because I don't need all the PPC-power. I just need an A1230/50 MHz and 16 MB RAM, that's all! Of course, I will have some difficulties with mixing 40 Channels in Digibooster, but it's surely enough for Protracker, which is all, I'm gonna use my Amiga for now. Well...that, and the Amiga demo scene too, of course!!!
This means that, if I encounter problems with mixing in Digibooster on the new A1230/50, I will mix all the tracks I have finished for "Eclectica" and only put those on the CD. This means, that the CD will probably "only" contain 6-7 tracks...Well, I will probably compose a killer-track to finish off the CD, so totally it will (MAYBE!) contain 8 tracks (+ the intro sequence)....I KNOW that this is bad news for the people, who looked forward to listening to more multichannel Amiga-tracks from me, but at least you'll get ONE CD...so cherish that one, because it will be worth thousands once I have become rich and famous. :)
Finally, I have found a wonderful tool for the PC, called TERRAGEN, that I probably will do the CD-Cover with. It's a landscape-generator, that is able to do absolutely STUNNING and realistic images, that I will retouch in Photoshop afterwards. Look out for some upcoming test-images!
Just because I have downgraded my Amiga, doesn't mean that this page will die or go dull, or something....For those of you, who might think, that I'm about to quit the scene, I asure you: Getting an old "standard" configuration is probably the best I could do to boost my activity (which is pretty low, I tell you...) and I'm actually looking forward to turn on the A1200 and go straight into Protracker and start composing! The first project I'm gonna finish, is the main track for our upcoming demo, scheduled to be released at Symposium 2001, so look forward to that one!

Welcome back to Nutman's universe! It's been a long time, but the site has now got a new domain name, has been totally re-designed (as stated in the news 24.05.00) and is back online for you to enjoy! Some minor changes is yet to come, but they will be made effective very soon!

I just returned from the annual Amiga-only party that my group, IRIS, holds every year and this I finally won the 4 channel compo with a module called "Possessed", which was an old module that I finally managed to finish at the party place. Get the module here.

I wrote to Net Services (the guys I bought www.nutman.dk from) and asked how I could get a web alias (a re-direction service, so users are automatically sent to home.get2net.dk/nutman every time they type www.nutman.dk in a browser) and 3 hours later the jerks from Net Services wrote me back and said "...it should be working now". Usually this service costs app. 149,- per year, but I got it for free! Don't ask me why and how, but the case is that it'll only be a matter of weeks now until I finally unleash this new site upon the hordes of Nutmaniacs, who are waiting out there...hungry....eh. :)

The 3rd part of the "Friendship 7" trilogy has now been completed and can be experienced in the music section.

After almost half a year without composing multichannel tunes, I have now completed 2 projects, namely Pleasure dome and Space boogie.

Ok. I know not much has happened here, since I promised that the new page would be uploaded. The reason is, that I have got a lot of work on other people's homepages, so I didn't really have time to finish my own. Well, it has been more or less finished for the last 3 months, but in the meantime I have added some rollover JavaScript buttons and done some other minor modifications. However, I'm actually thinking about re-designing the whole site AGAIN, even before the design has been uploaded, because it seems rather outdated to me. I have learnt SO much the last couple of months, that I am already quite embarrassed of the unfinished design. Anyway, stay tuned for more info!

Well, it's been a long time since I last modified this site. The reason is that I have bought www.nutman.dk, so right now I am re-designing my homepage and I will upload it later to the new domain. SO, until then, no further updates will be made to this site. I will ONLY post progress reports and stuff like that.

Decided to replace the projects with samples of higher quality. I originally played the projects on my Amiga and recorded them on my PC, but since my Amiga "only" has 14 bit output (due to a soundsystem called "AHI"), the quality really couldn't match REAL 16 bit sound. So I mixed all projects with the internal mixer of Digibooster and now I only need to convert them to MP3 and upload them on the homepage. Be ready to experience the improvement later this week!!

Discovered that my message board isn't working properly...It's not my fault, though. Blame Bytecenter! Well, hopefully they'll have it back and running soon...VERY soon! :)

Corrected an error on the links page, that caused all links to be displayed in the far right frame. Now they should all appear in the middle frame. Some people will probably find this annoying, but it's all about advertising and this is the best way to keep people from forgetting my page, once they have browsed to a link.
